    Remarks: 
    Juan Pablo Duarte (1813-1876) is considered the father of Dominican Independence. A political leader, Duarte organized the secret society La Trinitaria to work for Dominican independence from Haiti. This bust was dedicated on Duarte Day. Formerly located in Bayfront Park, the bust was moved when the park was redeveloped. Save Outdoor Sculpture survey reported artist as Rotelinni but signature as Rotelnini. Metro-Dade Center, Art in Public Places, reported medium of bust as carved white stone; Save Outdoor Sculpture reported it as painted cast bronze.
