    Description: 
    Portrait bust of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772), a Swedish scientist, inventor, and theologian, with his first theological work, Arcana Coelestia or "Heavenly Secrets," published 1749-1756. Inherent in the sculpture are two volumes of books stacked sideways upon each other that serve as a base for the portrait bust and also rotate. The titles are inscribed on each book.
