    Description: 
    A figure of a Native American standing with his back arched and his proper right hand holding a bow up above his head. He wears a loin cloth and moccasins. His hair is in long braids and there is a single feather on the back of his head.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned by Miss Clara Endicott Sears, the founder of the Fruitlands Museums, to symbolize the active aspect of the Native American psyche. The name Pumunangwet, or "he who shoots for the stars," was coined by Frank Speck based on his knowledge of the Algonquian language.
