    Remarks: 
    Rizal was a Filipino scholar, artist, and patriot who urged Philippine independence from Spain in the late 1800's. He was accused of sedition and was executed in 1896 at the age of thirty-five. The sculpture was a gift to the city from the Filipino-American community.
