Description:  Standing figure of Augustus of Primaporta with proper right arm raised and a staff in his proper left hand. He wears a short tunic with armor. At his proper right leg is a nude figure of Cupid riding a dolphin. C. located at the Vatican Museum. Augustus, the great-nephew and adopted son of Julius Caesar lived from 63 B. C. to 14 A. D. and was Emperor of Rome from 31 B. C. until his death.
