Remarks:
The fountain and statue are part of a beautification project begun by the Primghar Woman's Club in 1973. The fountain was a gift from the family of Mrs. E. T. Peterson, first President of the Woman's Club. The statue was a later addition to the fountain. According to an unidentified article in IAS files, the figure is meant to portray the struggle of women, with clenched fist representing determination.
