Inscription:  (Along edge of figure's proper right boot, incised lettering:) Liz Biesiot/(copyright symbol) 1979 signed Description:  A young miner strides forward, carrying a pick in his proper left hand and a lunch pail in his proper right hand. He wears a short jacket and a lantern helmet. The sculpture is mounted on a boulder in the middle of a triangular traffic island planted with flowers. A Miner's Ball raised $4,000 for the sculpture project. The sculpture stands as a tribute to miners who settled the area known as Copper Country.
