    Remarks:
Honors Nevada's military veterans. World War II bombers trained at the Tonopah Army Air Field and stealth fighters were tested at the Tonopah Test Range. Teddy Roosevelt reportedly trained his Rough Riders in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. SOS! report lists media as granite, but Nevada Appeal, Nov. 12, 1992, refers to media as sandstone. IAS files contain related articles from Las Vegas Sun, Oct. 18, 1991, pg. 7A, which discusses controversy surrounding the memorial; and Nevada Appeal (Carson City, NV), Nov. 12, 1992, pg. A-1, A-8, which discusses the dedication.
