    Description: 
    Monument has an apexed cap and stands on a tiered base. On the front face is a bas-relief which depicts a camp tent with various weapons and other military accouterments. These include a drum, knapsack, muskets with bayonets, cartridge box and canteen.

    Remarks: 
    Erected by the State of Ohio, the monument is one of 20 honoring Ohio troops who participated in the Gettysburg campaign. In indicates the position where the 29th Ohio relieved the 137th New York on the morning of July 3, 1863, and engaged Confederates for over two hours. The monument (referred to as MN 323) is listed on the National Park Service, List of Classified Structures and is referenced in the Gettysburg National Military Park Archives. IAS files include a portion of a National Park Service, Mid-Atlantic Region, Classified Structure Field Inventory Report which lists the previous owner as the State of Ohio.
