    Description: 
    A roadrunner made of recyclable and nonrecyclable materials. The bird has a trash-can beak, chicken wire tail, car headlight eyes, and its "feathers" include a plastic Barbie doll, a rotary telephone dial, a Bruce Springsteen cassette tape, and other "discarded objects" wired to a steel frame.

    The sculpture cost $3,000. It was erected under the auspices of the Community Pride of Las Cruces, as part of a larger grant from the federal government. The sculpture was created to raise awareness of recycling and environmental issues. The sculpture was meant to remain on display at the landfill for 5 to 8 months.
