The sculptures were all given to the University by the artist's son, Erskine Bufano and other members of the Bufano Society of the Arts. IAS files contain the program from the 1983 dedication of the Bufano Sculpture Garden, and a 1976 press release which describes the selection of Johns Hopkins University as the recipient of the sculptures.
