Inscription:  NEBRASKA'S TRIBUTE Description:  The stone is carved in relief with the Nebraska state seal depicting a blacksmith working at his anvil, a hammer held in his raised right hand. In the background on the right there is a steamship on a river, and on the left there is a log cabin on a prairie with mountains and a railroad in the distance. Along the upper edge of the circular seal there is a banner incised with the state motto EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW. Curving around the outer edge of the circular seal is an incised inscription reading NEBRASKA'S TRIBUTE. The stones were donated by states, cities, towns, organizations, individuals, and foreign countries in honor of George Washington. The State of Nebraska donated the stone, which is located at the 220 ft. level.
