Description:
The stone is carved in low relief with the
Montana
state seal depicting the sun setting behind a mountain range, a waterfall on the right, and to the left, mining tools including a pickaxe and a shovel. Surrounding the circular seal is an inscription carved in low relief. The seal is encircled with a decorative band. The corners of the stone are carved in relief with flowers.

One of 193 commemorative stones set into the interior walls of the Washington Monument. The stones were donated by states, cities, towns, organizations, individuals, and foreign countries in honor of George Washington. The State of
Montana
donated the stone, which is located at the 220 ft. level.
