Description:
Reliefs carved into a log depict images which represent the State of
Montana
and the Darby Community. These include an ax with a red and silver blade, a silver hard hat, a Bitterroot flower and a yellow meadowlark, the state bird.

Remarks:
Sculpture was carved from the main trunk of the community Christmas tree that was partially killed by a fire at the Darby Community Clubhouse on Jan. 27, 1991. The base was made by students at the Trapper Creek Job Corps.
