    Remarks: 
    According to the sculptor, the sculpture represents a union of opposites: sky and earth, spirit and nature. The sculpture symbolizes an egg or seed that is opening, but it is also symbolic of balance, light, energy and water. The symbolism of water is a tribute to Michigan, whose name comes from the Algonquian word for "Great Lake". IAS files contain related information by the artist.
