CITIZEN/1836 - 1907 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  In the center of a circular fountain basin stands an allegorical female figure representing Michigan. She holds a shield and a sword in her proper left hand and extends her proper right hand above her head. She stands on a circular base adorned on the front with a bronze relief of Russell Alger.
