Description:
The stone is carved in relief with an emblem depicting a military figure, a sword held high above his head as he stands beneath a columned portico, which rests atop a rocky island, with waves washing up along the shore. The portico is draped with banners incised with WISDOM JUSTICE MODERATION. Above the portico, a semicircular band around the tympanum is incised with CONSTITUTION, and inside the tympanum there is an eye. This emblem is flanked with an inscription carved in relief.

One of 193 commemorative stones set into the interior walls of the Washington Monument. The stones were donated by states, cities, towns, organizations, individuals, and foreign countries in honor of George Washington. The
Georgia
Convention donated the stone, which is located at the 230 ft. level.
