    Description: 
    The stone is carved in relief with an emblem depicting a bunches of grapes surrounded by a decorative border. Below the emblem there is a banner reading QUI TRANSTULIT SUSTINET. Over the emblem the stone is carved in relief with letters spelling out CONNECTICUT. Around the outer edges of the stone there is a decorative border.

    Remarks: 
    One of 193 commemorative stones set into the interior walls of the Washington Monument. The stones were donated by states, cities, towns, organizations, individuals, and foreign countries in honor of George Washington. The State of Connecticut donated the stone, which is located at the 70 ft. level. By the 1880s the original sandstone block was badly disintegrated. The replacement granite stone was given to the state by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1914.
