Description:
An eagle perches on a branch, a rattlesnake in its talons and wings folded protectively. Its beak is open. The sculpture is part of a fountain which has a circular base and stands in a circular rock-filled basin.

Remarks:
Commissioned as part of an overall town center project for the Town of Pueblo West, a 25 year old community in 1993. The eagle was adopted as a symbol for the Town. Funds for the project came from individual and corporate donors, including an initial $5,000 grant from the Kelly-Ducy Foundation. IAS files include a related article from the Chieftain (Pueblo, CO), Sept. 26, 1993.
