Inscription:  (On top of left foot:) GEORGE BASSETT (copyright symbol) (On lower right hand corner of granite inlay on front of base:) GEORGE BASSETT (On bronze plaque on front of base:) "THE HARVEST"/WINTHROP CENTENNIAL SCULPTURE/1881-1981/SCULPTOR - GEORGE BASSETT/COMMISSIONED 1980/DEDICATED OCTOBER 30, 1983/THIS CENTENNIAL SCULPTURE IS DEDICATED/TO THE COURAGEOUS PIONEERS WHO/WITH A VISION OF THE FUTURE/SETTLED THE WINTHROP AREA." signed Description:  A pioneer farmer stands holding two sheaves of grain in front of him. He wears a wide-brimmed hat, a long-sleeved shirt and suspenders. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular base with a granite inlaid relief panel on the front depicting a town on the left, perhaps Winthrop, with a church, houses, a water tower, and trees. A train approaches the town on the right, smoke billowing from its stack.
