Remarks:
One of two sets of pediment figures installed on the south and north ends of the library. Barnard was dissatisfied with Donnelly and Ricci's carving of the figures. He felt the figures did not project properly and were not like his models. However, the figures were installed despite this controversy. The Gayle and Cohen publication contains a photograph of the models for the pediment figures symbolizing the
