    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a young man is seated on a chair intently reading a sheath of papers. The figure wears work clothes with his shirt sleeved rolled up. His proper right arm supports his head as he reads the material in his lap. There is a laboratory apron draped over the back of the chair and several machine pieces gathered around the chair legs.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned for the Hartford Trade School, now the A. I. Prince Vocational Technical School, at its former location on Washington Street. The new school on Brookfield was built about 1965, and the sculpture was probably moved at the same time.
