    Remarks:
The sculpture is a gift from Kenneth H. Hofmann, with partial funding from The Dow Chemical Company. It was designed by Michael E. Jantzen, and engineered by the Materials Engineering Center of Dow Plastics and Western Division Manufacturing, both business groups of the Dow Chemical Company. The sculpture was fabricated by In-Land Technologies Service. The sculpture is part of an educational program developed at Lawrence Hall of Science for children to learn about DNA and is designed as a teaching tool for them to climb on. IAS files contain a related Lawrence Hall of Science press release dated June 19, 1992. IAS files also contain a transcription of one of the surrounding plaques.
