Dimensions:
(Circular form: H. 1 ft. 2 in. x Diam. 10 1/2 ft.) (Extending channels: H. 1 ft. 2 in. x D. 39 ft.).
Description:
A circular form with two zig-zag channels that extend 20 to 25 feet to the north and are parallel. The center of the circle is the highest point with two layers stepping slightly lower to the outside. Channels are cast into the concrete that allow the flow of water from the center outward and down the two zig-zag channels.

This piece was made for the 1987 Sculpture Symposium, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts,
Washington
State Art Commission (Arts in Public Place Program), and private donations. The artist was "inspired by tantric drawings of the origin of the world, landscapes and various views of heaven and hell. She focused on the sacred mountain Meru which is at the center of the universe and which has many different plateaus and islands. IAS files contain excerpt from pamphlet "
