    Description: 
    A bronze portrait bust of Dr. Abraham Coles rests on top of a small stack of books. The sculpture is installed at the top of a tall square base inscribed with "The Rock of Ages Isaiah 26:4 A National Song of Praise."

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned by J. Ackerman Coles in memory of his father, Rev. Dr. Abraham Coles. In 1913, John L. Meeker and William P. Meeker created a new base for the sculpture. IAS file contain a newspaper article from the Newark Call, Feb. 16, 1913.
