Description:
David B. Henderson, Congressman and Speaker of the House of Representatives, stands wearing trousers and a knee-length, lapelled coat. He has short hair and moustache, and his proper right hand is raised and holding a gavel, while his proper left arm is supported by a crutch. The statue is mounted upon a short, square, two-tiered base and stands in front of a large dedication plaque for the library which is named after him.

Robert Jensen was the consultant on the placement of the statue. David B. Henderson was the first Speaker of the House of Representatives from west of the Mississippi, 1899-1903, and a member of Congress from the Third District, 1883-1903. He was a Colonel of the 46th Infantry,
