Remarks:
Four of the bureaus are no longer under the jurisdiction of the
Department
of
Commerce
and are now under either the
Department
of the Interior or the
Department
of Transportation. According to the Gurney publication, these panels were designed by York and Sawyer, modeled by Ricci and Zari, and carved by the Edward Ardolino Company. Goode publication attributes these reliefs to James Earle Fraser. Image in Goode publication is of only one of the eight reliefs, the Coast & Geodetic Survey. Another eight relief panels depicting the eight bureaus of the Dept. of
Commerce
appear on the west facade of the building.
