THIS STATUE,/"SALUTE"/IS PRESENTED TO THE/INFANTRY REPLACEMENT TRAINING/CENTER, CAMP WOLTERS, TEXAS/MAJOR GENERAL BRUCE MACRUDER/COMMANDING/BY/TECH. SGT. SIMON G. MICHAEL/FEBRUARY 1943 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  Bust of a saluting soldier stands on an irregularly shaped base. The figure is seen from the torso up, wearing a simple uniform shirt and a peaked hat. His proper right hand is raised to his forehead in a salute. The base is roughly columnic and tapers at the top. Several asymmetrical forms are carved around the base. The stone base rests on a concrete pad of pink-hued concrete.
