John Blades, Esquire, was the son of James Blades of Stenton, near Barnards Castle, County Durham. John Blades married Hannah Hobson, daughter of Joshua Hobson, a merchant of the Parish of St. Johns, Southwark. They resided at Brockwell Hall, Herne Hill, London. John Blades was a glass merchant, operating from St. Paul's, Ludgate Hill, London, and he served as sheriff of London. He died in 1829, after October 8th.
