On reverse, tacked to stretcher is a label with faded brown ink, very faint but legible writing reads: Sarah White / Concord N H / W M Prior. (The writing and signature are in cursive lettering, the letter W is written with decorative curlicues, and the letter P in Prior is a very fancy letter).
