A World War I soldier stands in uniform with his proper right hand on his hip touching a gun belt, and his proper left hand on the barrel of his rifle, the butt of which rests by his feet. He wears a helmet, an open-collared shirt with sleeves rolled to the elbows, leggings, and a canteen on his rear proper right hip. A bag is slung over his proper right shoulder and rests on his proper left hip. The soldier is mounted upon a multitiered base with inscriptions on all sides.

Located Oak Grove Cemetery, 1613 Park Avenue, Main Drive, Paducah, Kentucky

Commemorates the soldiers and sailors who died in World War I. Monument was erected and dedicated by Paduke Post 31 of the American Legion. The City of Paducah appropriated $1,950 for the monument and burial grounds, with matching funds appropriated by the McCracken County Fiscal Court. The monument was cast by the American Bronze Company, and erected by the Beasley Monument Company. IAS files contain a full transcription of names on base. IAS files contain a Paducah ordinance from August, 1928, which contains appropriations information and specifications for the monument.
