    Formerly located New York City Hall of Records, 31 Chambers Street, New York, New York 1906-1959.
    Remarks: 
    Authority and Philip Martiny's companion sculpture, Justice, were originally positioned on either side of the entrance to the New York City Hall of Records --later known as Surrogate's Court. In 1959, when the city widened the street in front of the building, Authority and Justice were moved to the New York County Courthouse entrance niches.
