    Description: 
    A copper female figure dressed in classical drapery, with a laurel wreath on her head, and left hand holding a shield inscribed with AFTER LOYAL SERVICE UNION AND PEACE. The female figure stands atop a square granite base adorned with bronze inscription plaques honoring soldiers and sailors from Massachusetts who died during the Civil War.
