Description:
Full-length figure of a Union soldier. He wears a uniform including cap and overcoat. Attached to his belt are a small pouch on the proper right front, a large pouch on the back and a bayonet on the proper left side. His proper left arm leans on the muzzle of a rifle. He holds the barrel of the rifle with his proper right hand. The bronze sculpture stands atop a large base of granite blocks with a multi-stepped top.
