    (On plaque with figure:) IN THE YEAR 1841/THE REVEREND LUCIEN GALTIER/ERECTED NEAR THIS SITE/THE CHAPEL OF SAINT PAUL/FROM WHICH THIS CITY/DERIVED ITS NAME (On plaque with church:) IN 1841 AND IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER/I CAUSED SOME LOGS TO BE CUT, PREPARED/AND PUT UP AND SOON AFTER A POOR CHURCH/OF LOGS AND FITTED SO AS TO REMIND ONE/OF THE STABLE OF BETHLEHEM WAS BUILT./NOW THE NUCLEUS OF SAINT PAUL WAS/FORMED. THIS CHURCH THUS REMAINED/DEDICATED TO SAINT PAUL AND I/EXPRESSED THE WISH TO CALL/THE PLACE NO OTHER NAME./EXTRACT FROM A LETTER WRITTEN BY/FATHER LUCIEN GALTIER IN 1864. unsigned

    Two relief plaques mounted on boulder. One plaque has a bust of Father Lucien Galtier in ecclesiastical dress. The other plaque shows a log structure with a cross on top, the Chapel of St. Paul. Both plaques contain text and are bordered with acorns.
