Description:
Bust of Ruben Dario with upturned head. On the bust's plinth is an incised quill. On the front of the base is a round plaque showing the symbol of Nicaragua, above an inscribed rectangular plaque which features a symbol of a book at the bottom.

Remarks:
Ruben Dario (1867-1916) was a Nicaraguan poet and literary critic. He was a leader in the Modernist movement in Spanish literature. This bust of Dario was presented by the people of Nicaragua. Formerly
located
in Bayfront Park, the bust was moved to storage in 1985. In 1992 the bust was relocated to Biscayne Boulevard. IAS files contain information and articles related to the relocation of the bust.
