(On plaque on front of base:) 16TH PRESIDENT/OF THE UNITED STATES (Plaque on front of base has text of Emancipation Proclamation.) (On plaque on proper right side of base:) ABRAHAM LINCOLN/1809-1865 (Plaque on proper right side of base has the text of the Gettysburg Address.) signed Founder's mark appears.

Bronze bust of Abraham Lincoln. He is clean-shaven and wears a bow tie. The bust sits on a tiered concrete base which is painted black.

Remarks:
The sculpture was given to the county by the
Los
Angeles
County Bar Association. Cost of the sculpture was $5,000. The sculpture was originally installed in the east lobby of the county courthouse. It was moved in 1988 to its present outdoor location, replacing a sculpture of Senator Stephen White which had previously been
located
