The sculpture was donated by the artist in honor of his son Michael. The steel for the sculpture was obtained from the old front awning of the historic Palmer's Gallery, which originally stood across the street. IAS files contain transcription of nearby plaque, May 7, 1992 Press Release, and related article from The Spring (Hot Springs, AR), April 1, 1993, pg. 5. Conflicting heights from the sculpture are given. SOS! surveyor and press release list height as 20 feet; newsclipping lists height as 43 feet.
