Inscription:  (Base side:) 1976/Wasatch/Bronzeworks/Dennis Smith 1976 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  A group of five mallards with their wings spread about to take flight. The two ducks in the back are higher and are set in among leaves of grass. IAS files also contain copy of an article from Mason County Democrat (Havana, IL), Jan. 24, 1976. Work was commissioned by the city to memorialize the Original Duck, the Elite Eight basketball team of 1975-1976, and the nation's bicentennial. Purchased for 8,500 dollars.
