A Red Cross nurse stands dressed in a long gown and veil. The sculpture is mounted upon an octagonal column set upon an octagonal base with a stepped bottom. Four male military figures are mounted on the base around the bottom of the column. The figures represent branches of the military. In the front, an aviator holds a propeller in one hand and field glasses in the other. He wears a belted, heavy coat with high boots. A sailor, on the right side, holds an anchor wound with chains. On the left side, a marine stands wearing a helmet with his proper right hand on a rifle and his proper left hand holding a saber. At the rear, a soldier stands resting his hands on the barrel of a rifle in front of him. At the bottom front of the base are a seated male and female in civilian clothes holding an oak and laurel wreath which encloses a bronze tablet situated between them. They represent the workers who stayed at home and aided in the war effort. The sculpture is surrounded by a multisided fence and walkway.
