Description:
Two male figures stand on a round pedestal, and each stands on his own rectangular plinth. The figure on the left is a Chicano Builder. He wears workclothes, has wavy hair and a moustache and holds his hard hat crooked in his proper right elbow. The other figure is a rancher. He wears a suit, tie, cowboy hat and boots. He points upward and outward with his proper left hand and holds papers in his proper right hand.

Remarks:
"Sidewalk Society" is a series of nine figurative sculptures acquired by the
Avon
Town Council and the
Avon
Arts Council for their Art in Public Places Program. There are footlights installed on the paver in front of the figures. Sculpture was waxed in the autumn of 1994.
