The sculpture depicts three allegorical figures installed on top of a semicircular base on the right side of the building. The central figure is a seated female figure of Commerce dressed in a strapless robe that is belted at the waist. Her proper left arm rests on a globe which is placed atop a short column. In her proper right arm, she cradles a small boat. Her proper right foot rests on a large crate. Seated below Commerce, on her proper right, is a loosely draped, nude female figure representing Electricity. The figure of Electricity raises her arms and in her proper right hand holds a magnet which she uses to catch wireless flashes. Crouching below Commerce, on her proper left, is a nude male figure representing Steam. The figure of Steam clutches a wheel under his proper right arm and shields his face with his proper left arm.
