    Description: 
    Rectangular stone stele topped with a small pediment. On each side, below the pediment, is a row of garlands. On the front, in the center of the stele is a bronze medallion containing a relief of Conrad Mizer's head. The medallion is surrounded by a rectangular stone border of leaves and berries. Below the medallion is a fountain spigot and below the spigot is a semicircular fountain basin in a rectangular block.

    Remarks: 
    In 1896, music enthusiast Conrad Mizer initiated and funded a program for giving band concerts on Sunday afternoons in different Cleveland area parks. The Cleveland Lakefront State Park was formerly know as Edgewater Park. In 1978, the sculpture and the park were acquired by the State of Ohio, Department of Natural Resources. IAS files contain related excerpt from Elroy McKendree Avery's "A History of Cleveland and Its Environs, the Heart of New Connecticut," Chicago: Lewis Publishing Company, 1918, pg. 562-563.
