    Remarks:
Originally, the sculpture was designed to hang from the ceiling of a bank, but the bank project fell through after completion of the model. At the suggestion of Casa Grande businessman Dana Braker, the artist was able to flip the model upside down, making a ground installation possible. The sculpture was purchased from the artist by Dana Braker, who then donated it to the City of Casa Grande in Feb. 1982. The sculpture was welded together by the employees of Dana Braker's company, Braker Welding. The sculpture is dedicated to Casa Grande servicemen killed and wounded in the Vietnam War. A nearby plaque reads: O.L.M. 18/IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF/ORIN L. ALLRED EFREN CARMON/JOHN H. ARMSTRONG WILLIAM W. PATTERON/AND OTHER FRIENDS KILLED AND WOUNDED/IN THE VIETNAM WAR/ARTIST: STEVEN RAND/DONATED TO THE CITIZENS OF CASA GRANDE/BY DANA BRAKER.
