Remarks:
Butler
University
's Irwin Library's Rare Books and Special Collections files contain information on Holcomb Gardens, which were dedicated in 1950. An octagonal planter in front of the tablet has a quotation from a different philosopher inscribed on each side. W. V. Casey was the primary artist and J. I. Holcomb and Arthur Lindberg were the landscape architects.
