SIMPSON/KILLED AT ANTIETAM 125TH PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY/1ST BRIGADE 1ST DIVISION 12TH CORPS/RECRUITED IN BLAIR HUNTINGTON AND CAMBRIA COUNTIES PENNA. Description:  Full-length portrait of Color Sergeant George A. Simpson stands atop a square pedestal on a low rough-hewn base. The figure wears the uniform of his rank and holds a flag crooked in his proper left arm. His proper right hand rests on his sword, as though preparing to draw it. The 12th Corps star insignia is banded around the top of the pedestal.
