Formerly located Big Elk Studio, Dubois, Wyoming 1957-1969.

Formerly located at artist's studio, "Big Elk Studio," in Dubois, from date of creation in 1957 until 1969. Sold to Norm Wumikie in 1969 and put in front of a restaurant that is now the VFW. In 1970, movd to the Big Elk Drive-in, now the Rustlers Roost, also in Dubois. After the drive-in burned in 1972, the piece was moved to the Wind River Ranch up the Wapiti Valley from Dubois. The present owners purchased the elk at a sheriff's auction in 1985 and Vic Lemmon and Stan Blakeman restored it with the advice of the original artist.
