Inscription:  (Plaque on base front:) IN/MEMORY/OF/THE MEN/OF/MANCHESTER/WHO SERVED IN THE/REVOLUTIONARY WAR/WAR OF 1812/MEXICAN WAR/CIVIL WAR/ERECTED BY CITIZENS OF MANCHESTER/DEDICATED MAY 30 1905. (Plaques on base list names of soldiers from each of the wars) Description:  Standing figure of a Revolutionary War soldier dressed in a uniform, with tricorn hat and tailcoat with epaulets. He strides forward with his proper left foot. His proper left arm is held across his chest. He holds a sword pointed down in his proper right hand.The figure stands atop a pillar, which in turn is atop a squared-base.
