    Remarks: 
    IAS files contain a pamphlet published by the Bennington Battle Monument and Historical Association in 1898 and titled "Marking Historic Sites, which briefly mentions the monument. J. Ph. Rhinn designed the monument; Moretti sculpted the catamount. The piece was erected to mark the site of the Catamount Tavern, 1767.
