    Description: 
    Two figures set against abstract "tower." At the top is a female with arms outstretched toward the sky. She bends backwards and her proper right leg extends from the base. On the lower portion of the sculpture is a nude male figure. He is seated, with his proper left knee touching his chin; and arms extended outward.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned in honor of the college's 100th anniversary. According to the artist, the piece is apt metaphor for a centenary celebration, "a time to recall one's heritage and rededicate one's self for the future." Nearby bronze plaque reads: In Memory of/Dr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Salsibury/CROSS SECTION/by Paul T. Granlund/Presented to Sioux Falls College/In its Centennial Year, 1983/by John and Doris Salsibury.
